Santa Cruz, CA…On May 31, 2021, at approximately 12:23 a.m., SCPD responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 100 block of Elm Street at Pacific Avenue. Witnesses described two suspects shooting at each other, then fleeing the scene in vehicles. No victims were located or went to local medical facilities for treatment.

Officers processed the crime scene and collected approximately 20 shell casings. They canvassed the area for video surveillance and any additional witnesses. Detectives are following up on leads and scouring through video surveillance.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is on going. More details to follow as they become available.
