Pacific Grove, CA…Over the coming weeks we will be sharing information on bicycle/e-bicycle safety and regulations on Saturday mornings! Today’s tip is about e-bikes and the PG Rec Trail. Only Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are permitted on the PG Rec Trail.

Classes of e-bikes:
Class 1: Pedal-assisted with a max speed of 20 mph
Class 2: Throttle-assisted with a max speed of 20 mph
Class 3: Pedal-assisted with a max speed of 28 mph

(Please note that even e-bikes that are permitted on the Rec Trail must abide by the speed limit of 12 mph)
