The Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP) remains active in the local community with their annual involvement in the Meals on Wheels program being the latest example. The pace car drivers will take the Mazda fleet of cars including a Mazda CX-5, Mazda6 and Mazda CX-9 to deliver nutritious meals to homebound individuals who are unable to shop or cook for themselves. The Meals on Wheels program has become increasingly important with the number of senior citizens in need on the rise.

Meals on Wheels served more than 500 homebound seniors last year. 125 volunteer drivers are needed each week.

“This is a great program which works with the efforts of our volunteer drivers,” said Chris Alexander, Home-Delivered Meals Coordinator, Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula. “We need additional volunteers to continue serving the local community. We appreciate Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for their continued involvement.”
