Life Without The Possibility Of Parole For James Holmes

Aurora, CO… Convicted Colorado theater shooter James Holmes will spend the rest of his life behind bars without the possibility of parole. This is his punishment for the shooting deaths of 12 people in the 2012 movie theater shooting. The same jury that convicted him of the shootings was unable to unanimously decide if he should receive the death penalty.

Now hopefully surviving family members and injured victims will be able to move on with their lives and find some degree of closure. This whole process must have brought back that night for them over and over again.

This case has brought mental illness, access to guns, medical privacy, “gun free zones” and more to the forefront and hopefully many of these can recede into the background at least in the Colorado area.

The 2012 Aurora shooting killed 12 people and injured 70 others at a Century movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, on July 20, 2012.
