Felton, CA- On 10/22/21 at approximately 1321 hours, CHP responded to a traffic collision on East Zayante Road south of Highland Avenue. A 41-year-old Felton man was traveling in a Toyota Tacoma, southbound on East Zayante Road south of Highland Avenue. The Toyota was suddenly struck by a fallen tree causing the Toyota to veer off the roadway and down a down a dirt embankment. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision.

Fatal victim information is releasable through the Santa Cruz County Sheriff Coroner’s Office.
