Santa Cruz, CA…During a traffic stop for a violation, deputies contacted Damien Tovar, who is on probation with search terms. During a search of his vehicle deputies found Tovar to be in possession of over an ounce of methamphetamine packaged for sales, digital scales, a loaded handgun within arm’s reach of Tovar, and part of a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the back of the vehicle.

Tovar was arrested and booked into the County Jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm, being in possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of narcotics, transportation of methamphetamine, and being in possession of a concealed and loaded firearm while not the registered owner.
