Salinas, CA…After much anticipation and extensive work by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), the 60th anniversary season of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is ready to begin with the Ferrari Challenge on May 12-14.

In the 25th season of the Ferrari Challenge, the sixth different model in the one-make series is set to make its North American debut, and it promises to be the best one yet. The Ferrari 488 Challenge, replacing the Ferrari 458 EVO, is the first turbocharged car to grace the series.

The Ferrari 488 Challenge features improvements beyond the addition of the turbocharger. Aerodynamic and chassis improvements were made from the production version along with optimized timing mapping. The results have been improved lap times during testing which should translate into thrilling competition when the Ferraris take to the famous Corkscrew.
