Monterey, CA…Happy New Year! 2017 marks the diamond anniversary of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and the legendary road course has an exciting season planned during its 60-year celebration.

Round 1 of the Ferrari Challenge North America kicks off the major event schedule on May 12-14. A field of Ferraris will battle on the famed 2.238-mile road course.

Two-wheel enthusiasts can start gearing up for the Motul FIM Superbike World Championship GEICO U.S. Round featuring MotoAmerica on July 7-9. The international and national two-wheel extravaganza is a sight to behold with skilled riders getting every bit out of their motorcycles on the 11-turn course.

The premier historic racing event in the United States is the event circled on every automotive enthusiast’s calendar, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The highlight of Monterey Classic Car Week, a museum springs to life with 550 race cars selected out of over 1,000 entries competing on the famed race track. The Monterey Pre-Reunion gives fans two full days to take in the action on Aug. 12-13 before sports cars come to life again at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion on Aug. 17-20. The event will be heightened by the 60th anniversary of the iconic circuit during which several activities are planned for the Racing Through the Decades celebration.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship comes to Monterey on Sept. 21-24 when the track hosts the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix powered by Mazda. The action among the prototype and GT sports cars promises to be hot and heavy during the penultimate round of their season championship.

Once again, the final major event of the season also happens to be the season finale of the Pirelli World Challenge. Nearly 20 different manufacturers do battle in eight Grand Touring (GT) and Touring Car (TC) classes in sprint-race format on Oct. 12-15. The eight-hour International GT Challenge endurance event will also take place at this event.
