This show features works from Wagner, Strauss and Brahms and premieres at Salinas‘ Sherwood Hall on Friday at 7:30pm and at Carmel-by-the-Sea‘s Sunset Center on Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. $20-$78.

Prepare to get spooked at the Monterey Mirror Maze! The family friendly Mirror Maze gets dressed up for Halloween Friday and Saturday nights. 8pm, 751 Cannery Row, Monterey. $15 per person or bring 3 donated canned goods to get $5 off your ticket.

Have your little ones learn to stop, drop and roll during MY Museum‘s Fire Safety course. Some of the city’s bravest firefighters stop by for demonstrations, activities and a tour of their fire truck. 3:30pm-4:30pm, 425 Washington Street, Monterey. Free with admission.

William Shakespeare’s Hamlet comes to the Sunset Center tonight! Expert actors from the Acting Company and the Guthrie Theatre bring you a sensational performance of the classic and beloved story. 8pm, San Carlos Street at Ninth Avenue, Carmel-by-the-Sea. $29-$49.

Head to Big Sur tonight for a live performance from Junip at Fernwood Tavern. The Swedish folk rock and psychedelic rock band are sure to put on a great show in the redwoods. 9pm, 47200 Highway One, Big Sur.$22 in advance and $25 at the door.

Saturday

Earthbound Farms throws a Fall Fun Day today! Load up on pumpkins, take a stroll through the corn maze or just enjoy the warmth of Carmel Valley. 11am-3pm, 7250 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel. Free admission.

Fabulous food and savory wines are the stars of the show at the Salinas Valley Food & Wine Festival. Historic oldtown Salinas hosts all sorts of food vendors, wineries, breweries and lots of live entertainment.12pm-5pm, Main Street, Oldtown Salinas. Free admission, unlimited tasting are available for $35 in advance and $45 at the door.

Sunday

Fall colors have officially arrived at Garland Park! Join the Monterey Peninsula Regional Parks District for a hike though the autumn-gold maple leaves and shady meadows. The 3.5 mile hike is expected to last 3-4 hours. Don’t forget to wear comfortable hiking shoes and to bring water, lunch and snacks. 9am, Garland Visitor Center, Carmel Valley. Free event.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is having a party today in honor ocean conservation and Latin American culture. Fiesta Del Mar is sure to be a hit with all sorts of fun like live music, dancing, crafts and more. 10am-6pm, 886 Cannery Row, Monterey. Free with admission, children 12 and under admitted free.

The Monterey Museum of Art La Mirada hosts The Listening Place, Readers Theater this afternoon. Today they read from “Every Spreading Moonbeam” by Nina Solomita about a young Jewish girl who dreams of becoming an actress and studying with the great teacher Konstantin Stanislavski. 1:30pm, 720 Via Mirada, Monterey. $10.
