Soquel, CA – On 2/19/22, at approximately 0059 hours, CHP responded to a traffic collision on Soquel Dr. east of Cabrillo College Drive. 42 year-old, Carlos Deleon of Soquel, CA, was traveling in a 2005 Pontiac, westbound on Soquel Drive at an unknown speed. For an unknown reason, Deleon lost control of the Pontiac and collided into a concrete pillar within the center median. Deleon sustained major injuries as a result of the collision, and was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.

This collision is still under investigation. It is currently unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision.
