Parks and Recreation Opens Marsh Vista Trail in Arana Gulch

Santa Cruz, CA…City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce Marsh Vista Trail is open for visitors to enjoy while Arana Gulch construction is underway and thereafter. The quarter-mile trail is a single track, point-to-point route for pedestrians only (no dogs or bikes allowed). Access points are the Agnes Street entrance and the Coastal Prairie Trail exit. See map for location of Marsh Vista Trail.

Mauro Garcia, Parks Superintendent says, “This trail was created specifically so folks can enjoy the eastern part of the open space during and after construction. We want the community to continue enjoying the area while work goes on.”

The groundbreaking for the Arana Gulch Multi-Use Trail Project was on November 19 and work is well underway. The bridge and trail system is part of a master plan for the Arana Gulch Open Space that includes bike and pedestrian trails that are ADA compliant, with interpretive opportunities and habitat protection. The project will be built in two phases and will take approximately one year to complete. For updates on the project visithttp://aranatrailproject.blogspot.com.
