Watsonville, CA…A man suspected of stealing several mailbox keys from a United States Postal Service vehicle has been arrested. The keys would have given the suspect access to mailboxes in Watsonville and other surrounding areas.

Surveillance footage helped detectives identify 39-year-old Richard Wimberly, who was arrested this morning.
At this point, we do not believe Wimberly tampered with any mailboxes but postal inspectors continue to investigate.

Wimberly was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on theft, possession of stolen property, and probation violation charges.
