Boardwalk’s Work & Play Program Incentivizes Temporary Employees with Free Season Passes

Santa Cruz, CA…The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is joining other amusement parks across the country – employing temporary workers to help fill the schedule in May and June after an unprecedented year of closure. Spring and early summer are typically busy months for amusement parks and attractions, yet many students are not available to work and hiring has been especially challenging in 2021.

The Boardwalk aims to hire 65 employees to work ten, 8-hour shifts on specific dates in May and June for the program. In addition to an hourly wage, employees who work ten days in May and June will receive 6 Boardwalk Season Passes ($515 value) to share with family and friends. Jobs pay $14.00 – $14.50 per hour with positions in foodservice and ride operations.

The deadline to apply is May 10. For more information visit https://beachboardwalk.com/Work-and-Play .

Introduced in 2019, the Boardwalk’s Work & Play Program was an instant success during its first year. “Our Work & Play employees enjoy the fun of working at the beach for just a few weeks,” said Boardwalk Employment Manager Carol Siegel. “OIn 2019, our Work & Play employees included a retired physician who always wanted to work at an amusement park; a retired financial advisor who wanted free season passes for his family; a retired couple from the Central Valley who love the Boardwalk; and a local bride-to-be who wanted to thank her bridal party with Boardwalk Passes.”

In addition to the innovative Work & Play Program, the Boardwalk is already filling hundreds of other jobs in various departments throughout the company. Flexible schedules for students as well as full-time career positions are available. https://beachboardwalk.com/Jobs
