Suspect in Car and Identity Theft Identified

Monterey, CA…On March 11, 2013, Stahl Motors at 498 Fremont, Monterey, reported the theft by fraud of a 2013 Mercedes CL63AMG valued at $161,255.00. The suspect used a stolen identity and fraudulent documents to steal the vehicle. The suspect was described as a black female in her early 30’s, approximately 5 foot 8 inches, 150, with straight black hair.

On July 24, 2013 at 8:44 AM, the Monterey Police Department was informed by the Sacramento Police Department that the Mercedes had been recovered in their city. They had been investigating an unrelated fraud when the vehicle was located. A female involved in their investigation, Tamika Ringo, has since been identified as the suspect in the Monterey theft. Ringo is a 29 year old black female from Oakland.

Monterey Police obtained a $140,000 warrant for Ringo on the charges of auto theft, identity theft, burglary, possession of false ID, and forgery. Ringo is currently in custody on unrelated charges in Sacramento and will be transported to Monterey County when she is released from their custody.
