Planning Commission Public Hearing on Legalization of Accessory Dwelling Units – Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Monterey, CA…A new State law requires all California jurisdictions to allow accessory dwelling units in residential zoning districts. The law becomes effective January 1, 2017. Therefore, the City’s current prohibition of “Second Units” in the Single-Family Zoning District will expire on January 1, 2017. The City’s Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on the issue on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers – 580 Pacific Street.
