Los Angeles, CA…Food 4 Less, the nation’s leading price-impact supermarket chain, announced it raised $154,559 during the month of May to assist hunger relief efforts in the communities served by its stores. The funds were raised through the supermarket company’s annual Bringing Hope to the Table campaign that was carried out in all Food 4 Less stores in Southern California, southern Nevada and greater Chicago, and Foods Co supermarkets in Central and Northern California from April 28 to May 11.

Monies raised through this year’s Bringing Hope to the Table campaign will benefit food banks that are members of Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. Food banks receiving support from Food 4 Less/Foods Co’s 2013 Bringing Hope to the Table promotion are:

During the promotion, each time a Food 4 Less or Foods Co customer purchased a participating item they showed their support for food banks in their community. Participating products and items from numerous vendor partners were marked with special shelf tags to indicate their pledge to support Bringing Hope to the Table.

Since 2006, Food 4 Less and Foods Co have contributed more than $1.5 million in food and funds to local food banks through the annual Bringing Hope to the Table campaign.

Last year, Food 4 Less/Foods Co provided more than $4 million in cash and in-kind donations to organizations focused on health, education, the fight against hunger, developing our youth, and the environment.
